What is your goal or mission?
We work to provide new clothing so “That No School Child Shall Miss School for Need of Shoes or Clothing” in Stark County, Ohio. We do not accept or provide used clothing!
How do families apply for clothing?
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) can only apply through their child(ren)’s school. The eligible schools will have applications.
When can families apply?
Applications are available on the first day of school each year and no later than October 31.
How do families get new clothing?
If application is approved, parent(s)/guardian(s) will get a purchase order for clothing. They must take the children to J.C. Penney to redeem the purchase order by the void date. No money or gift cards are given directly to families.
How does the Canton Ex-Newsboys Association get its money to purchase the clothing?
We receive funds from various sources. Pizza Oven Charities, grants, and individual donors are the main sources.
How can I donate to this worthy cause?
See our Donation page. Individual donations are received through the mail, the letter campaign or online through PayPal.
How is my donation used?
100% of your donation received goes directly into the “clothing” fund for children! All members are volunteers! We have NO paid employees!
How do you run the Canton Ex-Newsboys Association?
We rely on membership dues to operate. Rent, postage, office supplies, website maintenance, etc. are paid through a separate “operations” account.
Can I join this wonderful organization?
Anyone 18 years and older is welcome and encouraged to join us. Dues are only $30 per year and you do not have to be a former newspaper carrier or newspaper employee! Join HERE!
