Our History

In the late 1950’s, several businessmen, who happened to be former newspaper carriers, wanted to do something to help our community.

Remembering that it was sometimes hard or embarrassing for them to attend school with tattered clothes, they decided to help kids attend school by furnishing them with clothes and shoes. The Canton Ex-Newsboys Association was officially incorporated in 1959 and began helping kids in 1960. The group partnered with the J. C. Penney Company, and we are still with them.

Men and women are encouraged to join the Canton Ex-Newsboys Association!
